What is UL?

Behind UL Marks is Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., a non-governmental and not-for-profit independent organization founded in 1894 to help minimize fatalities involving humans and animals, injury, and loss of property. With this purpose, UL tests and researches thousands of products, materials, structures, and systems in order to verify possible electrical, fire, and negligence hazards.

With more than a century of experience, UL is one of the most reliable and well-known organizations in product testing, studies, certification, and inspection.

Currently, UL works side by side with companies in order to facilitate products access and acceptance in several worldwide markets that value quality and safety. Therefore, in 1995, UL started to expand its services in Latin America with the creation of UL de México.

What is UL de México?

UL de México is a subsidiary of Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. performing compliance evaluation activities that strongly comply with our commitment to consumer and property safety.

As a third-party Product Certification Organization, UL de México employs trained personnel to perform activities related to the electrical and electronic industry, being ema-certified for the standards listed in the Accredited Standards section of this website and indicated in document No. 57/07, which expires on 10/08/2011.
